A close ally of former governor Rauf Aregbesola, has dismissed claims made by Sunday Akere, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, that Aregbesola undermined the second-term ambitions of his successor, Gboyega Oyetola.Fasure described Akere’s claims as “nonsense” and said that Akere and other supporters of Oyetola are seeking relevance and federal jobs by mentioning Aregbesola’s name.”APC is dead in Osun,” Fasure declared. “If you say who is APC now, you will hear Akere, Kola Olabisi, and the party chairman, so there are only three of them remaining in APC in the state.”Fasure accused Akere and others of using Oyetola as a tool to fight their personal battles and creating enemies for the former governor.”They are the ones actually putting the former governor (Oyetola) into crisis because they always make enemies for him and they position themselves in such a way that they turn the former governor into a prisoner of power.”Fasure’s reaction comes after Akere alleged that Aregbesola had worked against Oyetola’s re-election efforts and was using him to confront his estranged political mentor, President Bola Tinubu.
