Senator Ajibola Basiru representing Osun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly gives the panegyric to the Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye the second as he celebrates his tenth coronation.
Senator Basiru who refers to Ataoja as his own father describes his accession to the throne as a fulfilment of destiny,saying the monarch attained the lofty height despite odds.
Basiru recollects that Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun ascends the throne at a time it had been destined that the Progressives would take the reins of power in Osun.
He adds that the tenure of the monarch, loved by his subjects, has brought tremendous development s to Osogbo, manifesting in good roads network, and school infrastructure, expansion of the business center areas and opening up of more business premises as well as major breakthroughs in politics.
Senator Ajibola Basiru rejoices with the Ataoja that his tenure has been peaceful as Osogbo continues to be the epicenter of the peace the State has been proud of.
“God has endowed the Kabiyesi with an uncommon wisdom and royal carriage with which he has been able to manage the affairs of the town thus rallying the support of all.”
While praying for more glorious years on the throne in good health,Basiru enjoins Osogbo sons and daughters, home and in the Diaspora to support the Ataoja in raising the town higher on the pedestal of development.
Following the transition of the immediate past Ataoja, Oba Iyiola Oyewale Matanmi the third,the incumbent monarch Oba OlanipekunOyetunji was crowned on the 10th of September,2010 as the 18th Ataoja of Osogbo Kingdom.
“Two hundred years on the throne is a year equivalent, ” Senator Basiru prays.
