Top leaders of Osun All Progressive Congress(APC) are in confusion over the petition lodged by an Abuja based lawyer against top former functionaries of the Oyetola administration.
Since early morning when the petition surfaced in national dailies, top leaders of the APC have been running helter-skelter over details of the petition and wondering whose names were mentioned and for what offences.
When the actual petition surfaced across social media platforms, the tension became uncontainable as the petition and the extracts from the investigations contained damning evidence, bank details, company registration among others.
The petition contains several withdrawals, the account number, the name of beneficiaries, directors of beneficiary companies, names of officials and their families among others.
An APC chieftain expressed shock at the details contained in the petition, asking “how did they got those details?
“They went as far as getting details of company registration from CAC and we were not aware? This is really shocking.
“We were caught napping. All these details are too graphic. What manner of carelessness is this”
Another APC chieftain was angry that the $20 million PHC money was handled the way it was handled , querying why the leadership can be that careless.
“I don’t know whether all these are true or false but the details look so real.
“If true, our leaders demonstrated insincerity to our followers. What manner of leadership is that? Now , our own leaders have given the PDP mouth to talk and abuse us”
As at the time of filing this report, the EFCC petition is a subject of discourse and debate among the APC leaders in Osun state.
One of the leaders around Ogo Oluwa Osogbo said the party will soon issue a statement to deny the allegations, saying “ we will deny the allegations first of all.
“After that we will phone our leaders to explain. The evidence against them are too open and clear. Even if the public no longer believes it, we will deny the allegations.
“But we know this petition is really damaging. It undermines our moral foundation.”, the APC chieftain lamented.
