Capacity-Building Workshop for Staff of INEC Oyo State.

In a bid to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of electoral processes, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State recently conducted a comprehensive Capacity-Building Workshop for its staff members.

The workshop, which took place at the Collation Center of the Commission on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, saw the Honorable Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, Dr. Adeniran Rahmon Tella, represented by the Administrative Secretary, Engr. Abdulrazaq Agboola, officially inaugurate the event.

In his opening address, Dr. Tella emphasized the importance of continuous learning and development for staff members to excel in their roles. He urged participants to leverage the knowledge gained during the workshop to enhance their performance in executing their statutory duties and functions.

Throughout the day, attendees were exposed to various topics crucial to electoral administration, including Election Mathematics and Statistics Models, Writing Administrative Reports, Notices, and Circulars, Fundamentals of Meeting Minutes, Writing Official Memos, and the Use of Abbreviations/Acronyms in Public Service for Administrative Communication.

The interactive segment of the workshop facilitated engaging discussions and exchanges of insights among participants, addressing a wide range of questions related to the workshop modules.

The initiative reflects INEC’s commitment to continuous capacity-building and professional development among its workforce, ultimately aimed at improving the integrity and efficiency of electoral processes in Oyo State.

By equipping staff members with the necessary skills and knowledge, the Commission endeavors to uphold its mandate of delivering free, fair, and credible elections, thereby strengthening democracy and public trust in the electoral system.
