We Are In Solidarity With Nigerians In Diaspora, says Nigerian Senate.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora, NGOs And Civil Societies, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has expressed solidarity with Nigerians all over the World especially those either trapped or are resident in the countries being ravaged by the dreaded Covid-19.
In a statement signed by the Senator himself, he advised Nigerians abroad to adhere strictly with any and all precautionary measures put in place in their places of residence to ensure that they stay healthy. Senator Basiru stressed that the Government is really concerned and worried about their plight much as it worries about the status and safety of those at home.
Supporting the Federal Government’s decision to place a ban on all international flights, the Osun Central Senator called on the Government to go a step further to stop all domestic flights and at the same time, declare a national emergency to really fight the scourge to a standstill.
Stressing that everybody is a potential carrier, Senator Ajibola Basiru counselled the public to stricotly observe all the precautions especially observation of social distancing, avoiding any form of social gathering and regular washing of hands among others to safe the country from the global scourge.
