An Osun-based non-governmental organization is set to distribute free JAMB forms to hundreds of indigent and less privileged students in Ayedaade Local Government and various other local governments across Osun State simultaneously.
As the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announces the date and kicks off registration for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the GBERA Foundation is poised to provide free forms strictly to the indigent and proverty sticken students having fewer advantages to education, continuing its annual tradition.
In an awareness released, Hon. (Dr.) Yemi Kehinde, the founder and chairman of the foundation, popularly known as GBERA, stated that the annual JAMB Scholarship is driven by a passion to assist less privileged students for their proper growth and future elevation.
He emphasized, “As fingers are not equal, not every student has the capacity to acquire the form for the examination, let alone proceed to higher institutions. Importantly, it is crucial to imbibe the spirit of giving to support the masses for a better life.” The free UTME forms will be shared arbitrarily and not based on political distribution.
Dr. Yemi Kehinde, the foundation’s chairman, hailing from Agboye’s compound, Gbongan, in Ayedaade Local Government, shared that his philanthropic passion is inherited from his father, the late Chief Albert Adeyemi Kehinde, who was the first accountant general of Osun State and the former executive chairman of Ayedaade Local Government.
Yemi Kehinde, a former vice-chairman in Ayedaade Local Government and the southwest coordinator of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen, Federal Republic of Nigeria, holds a BSc. and MSc. in Agricultural Economics & Extension and Human Resources Management, respectively, from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, and an honorary doctorate degree at the California Institute of Technology, USA. His dedication to education and humanitarian efforts is second to none.
