GM NHIS VISITS OYETOLA
The state of Osun is set to Rollout State Social Health Insurance Scheme (SSHIS).
The General Manager, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Pharmacist Idiat Anibilowo disclosed this while on a courtesy call to Governor Gboyega Oyetola in his office at Abeere.
She said social Health Insurance is very important and contributory while considering the less privileged in the society.
She however appreciated the state government of Osun for being penchant for free Health Care delivery system.
Responding, Governor Gboyega Oyetola commends their efforts in ensuring that NHIS becomes very operatives in Nigeria, adding that the impacts are now being felt more than before.
Governor Oyetola also expresses satisfaction that Nigerians are getting the roles of insurance in the development of any Nation.
- The Governor stressed that the roles of Insurance cannot be overemphasized, thus free Health Care may not be sustainable if we must talk of qualitative Health Care delivery system. He added that social protection programmes such as Agba Osun and provisions for the vulnerables should be transferred to a scheme like this.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola while enumerating some of the advantages of the rollout of State Social Health Insurance Scheme (SSHIS) stated that it guarantees regulations of treatment and as well guarantees Health Care in an affordable manner. The scheme also ensures that the most vulnerables have access to Health Care and at the long run reduces financial budden on the state or the Nation at large, adding that it’s a win-win situation if well packaged.
