The embattled Owa of Igbajo in Boluwaduro local government area of Osun state, Prince Famodun has finally approached court of law to seek justice.
According to information available to our reporter, the deposed Owa of Igbajo through his legal counsel has approached high court in Osogbo the Osun state capital to file originating summons in respect of the disputed stool of Owa of Igbajo.
Prince Famodun was hurriedly installed as Owa of Igbajo in November 2022 few days to the handing over of the immediate past governor of the state Adegboyega Oyetola to the current governor of the state senator Ademola Adeleke.
It would be recalled that immediately after he took over the mantle of leadership, senator Ademola Adeleke set up committee to look in to the circumstances that led to the installation of some Obas among whom is Prince Famodun after he has successfully removed all the Obas with executive order.
The committee came up with their report where it was suggested that the process should start at fresh because according to the white paper, due process were not followed in the selection stages of the embattled Obas.
The process started afresh and all the affected Obas lost out including the Owa of Igbajo and out of these Obas, two of them have been replaced namely,Owa of Igbajo and Aree of Iree.
The Osun state government has since announced the replacements for the two stools, Owa of Igbajo and Aree of Iree and consequently issued certificate of office to the newly appointed Kabiyesis.
Not satisfied with the outcome of the process,Prince Famodun through his counsel approached state high court yesterday Monday 11th of March 2024 to challenge his removal from office.
It has not yet been confirmed when the legal tussle will commence but, definitely the battle has now been shifted to the court of law.
