One Year Anniversary: Oyetola Fulfilling Campaign Promises, Osun Should Expect More –Says Olamiju, S.A. Public Health
The Special Adviser to the Governor, State of Osun on Public Health, Pharm. (Dr) Olasiji Olamiju has commended the governor for successfully delivering on his electoral promises to people of the State.
Olamiju stated this in Osogbo on Tuesday after a Novelty Football Match between the ‘Executive and Legislative team’ of the State of Osun, as part of activities to mark Governor Oyetola’s one year in office anniversary.
He said that despite the paucity of funds, Governor Oyetola has promised to sustain the pace of development of the state to achieve full potential, through his developmental plan, which is anchored on four pillars: economic development, infrasturcture, human capital development and security as well as environmental sustainability for the State.
According to him, “The desire of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to transform the State of Osun is already yielding good fruits. This is a man who believes that the people he leads should come first in his priority list. He has even vowed to ensure that the policy gains of the Osun Development Agenda are fully achieved and the people of the State have testified to this rare feat exhibited by the governor during the commissioning exercises and the earlier ‘Walk to Greatness’ exercise.”
The Public Health Special Adviser said the landmark achievements recorded so far by the Oyetola-led administration is very reassuring for Osun people that the dividends of true governance have just begun to set in.
While commending the citizens of the State, Olamiju said, “Governor Oyetola is a man who is totally committed to growth of the entire state. We now have 332 Primary Health Care centres – one per ward – across the state, nine General Hospitals revitalized and the one-per-senatorial-district upgrading and expansion is nearing completion. A lot of critical roads have been rehabilitated. Modulated salary is gone; workers now get their salaries as and when due. This shows how much priority this government give to the welfare of workers. If we can achieve so many in one year, what do you think about the remaining years?
“This government is focused and determined to deliver on its promises to the people, especially in terms of building on unity, peace and security.”
On the attitudinal change amongst the community health workers, Olamiju tasked them to embrace the core values and ethics of their profession in the care of patients to justify the government’s huge investment in the sector.
He therefore appealed to everyone to complement the state government’s efforts by building confidence in government’s determination to improve the lots of the people and imbibing a maintenance culture to help preserve the numerous projects that have been executed for the benefit of all.
