OSUN ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS AMOTEKUN GOVERNING BOARD & CORPS COMMANDANT
Receives Governor Oyetola letter to confirm commissioner nominee.

The State of Osun House of Assembly has confirmed the Chairman Governing Board, Brigadier General Issa Ademola Aderibigbe and Corps Commandant Brigadier General Bashir Biodun Adewinbi of State of Osun Security Network and Amotekun Corps respectively.
The confirmation followed the screening of the two security experts last week and a motion move by Majority Leader Hon. Maroof Olanrewaju and seconded by Hon Nasiru Olateju of Orolu State Constituency and Hon. Martins Adeyeye representing Ife East State Constituency respectively.
During his remarks, The speaker of the house, Hon. Timothy Owoeye said the house of assembly relied on Section 198 of Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria and Section 52, 13 (1) (52) of State of Osun Security Network and Amotekun corps establishment law 2020 to confirm the two nominees of Governor Oyetola.
He also said the challenge of rising insecurity here and there and the quest to secure the life and property of the people of the State of Osun is a major reason our security have to be beefed up, hence the creation of state of Osun security network and Amotekun corps.
Hon Timothy Owoeye lauded governor Oyetola for carefully selecting the security chiefs describing them as right pegs in the right holes.
Hon Owoeye urged the two confirmed heads of security to see their positions as a call to serve the people of the state of Osun. He urged them to work in accordance with the constitution and law establishing the security outfit and as well work hard to curtail criminality in the State of Osun.
In their various remarks, the lawmakers described the nominees as well trained security personnels thus expresses their confidence in bringing their wealth of experience to bear in securing the state.
The state of Osun House of Assembly through their speaker, Owoeye however gave a matching order to governor Oyetola to go on and conduct their swearing in to set the ball rolling.
In another development, the speaker of the parliament, Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye brings to the notice of the lawmakers the letter received from state governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola requesting the confirmation of Mr Salima Adebayo Waliu as Commissioner, state of Osun Judicial Service Commission and directed the nominee to forwarded 53 copies of his curriculum vitae to the house of assembly on or before 4th of August 2020.
