Osun Government remains committed to provision of affordable and functional Education- Says Oyetola.
Governor State of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has reteirated the commitment of his government to the provision of affordable and functional education for every youth in the state.
He said no amount of resources will be considered too much for his government to invest in the lives of the children of the state through education.
Governor Oyetola disclosed this on Saturday at the 25th year anniversary and founder’s day celebration of Olashore International School in Iloko Ijesa.
The Governor who spoke through his deputy Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi said as a party and an administration, his government believes that education is the bedrock of the society and any enduring civilization.
He maintained that this explained the huge investment of the state in public education and the encouragement being given to private partnership in the sector in order to ensure that the youths in the state can compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
He charged the youths to be focused and shun drug abuse and socio vices and strive to leave enduring legacies for the the future.
According to Governor Oyetola, the future belongs to the youths, if they take it boldly, they would exploit even more than the past leaders.
While congratulating the school for the silver jubilee and the feat it has attained in the last 25 years of its existence, Governor Oyetola said although its founder, Oba Oladele Olashore the late Aloko of Iloko Ijesa has joined his ancestors his unique interventions in public domain and his enduring legacy in the education sector shall continue to live on.
He commended the tenacity and unusual commitment of the school management to the successful implementation of its policies which according to him are in consonance with the core education policy of the state.
“My dear parents, guardians, old and current students of this school,I congratulate you on this occasion and wish to reiterate the need for you all to sustain the already established sociological ties with this great school and even make it stronger.
Above all, be good ambassadors of the school, remember the school in particular and the society at large
Rest assured that this government is committed to the provision of affordable and functional education for every youth in the state. No amount of resources will be considered too much as investment in the lives of our children in the state of Osun. We are proud to have Olashore International School as a partner in this regard.
I urge the management of Olashore International School to take stock, constantly review its content, continue to be relevant to the development of the state, the nation and the world”, he said.
In his keynote address, the Governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi who was represented by his wife Erelu Bisi Fayemi expressed displeasure over the high number of out of school children in the Nigerian despite the free education policies of government.
He enjoined the youths of the country to get involved in the fight the that will reshape and make the society and the nation as a whole a better place for all to live.
In his own remarks at the event, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusu Ojaja the II tasked the students of the school and all the Nigerian youths to be impactful and add a positive value to the society for the country to be taken to a greater height.
The Paramount ruler saluted late Oba Olashore for a good legacy he has built in education for the future generations.
