This process was faulted by the people of Igbajo who raised eyebrows and protested the process then but, their protest was never listened to by the former governor, but immediately the new government came on board,he suspended Prince Famodun and others that were installed in the same manner with executive order and asked the process to restart afresh.

The governor set up committee on this and the committee finally came out with white papers which eventually nullified the process.
After the process was restarted, the kingmakers selected Prince Dr Ademola Makinde as the new Owa of Igbajo and forwarded his name to the state government for final approval. The government in return gave express approval to the nomination and the new Owa of Igbajo was installed.
Today occasion was personally witnessed by the state governor where instrument and staff of office were finally presented to his royal Majesty Dr Ademola Makinde, the new Owa of Igbajo
