Piety Involves Obedience to Authorities…SRJ
Senator Ajibola Basiru of Osun Central Senatorial District has charged muslims to extend piety to obedience to authorities as the Ramadhan fast starts.
In a statement he personally signed to felicitate with muslims on this year’s Ramadhan, Senator Basiru alluded to the verse of the Quraan where Allaah enjoins adherents of Islamic faith to comply with the directives of their leaders as long as such does not run contrary to the injunctions of Allaah.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora said the call became necessary in view of the Government’s directive for people to shun gathering during this period of Coronavirus.
Dr Ajibola Basiru appealed to muslims to steer clear of congregational taraweeh prayers and Tafseer as the Jum’at prayers which has a chapter in the Quraan has been suspended for now.
The Federal lawmaker harped on the need for everybody particularly muslims to pray for Osun and the country to swim clear of the pandemic as they wash their hands regularly and stay at home to stem the tide of community transmission of Covid-19.
