*ACCEPTANCE SPEECH*

In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful.
I thank Almighty God for sparing our lives till this day and I’ll thank each and every member of our noble group, The Progressives e-group for making a critical decision which saw the BOT, members and Past Executives of the group whom voted overwhelmingly in this election to elect me as the incumbent Cordinator of our group.
I thank all members across stages in the group for this historic and humbling decision. This election, for me, is perhaps the highest honour I have ever received as a member of Progressives E-group since I became a member of this group. The mandate comes with a huge responsibility to paddle the canoe of this noble group for 2 years, a mandate and responsibility I appreciate and do not take lightly.
Leadership is all about shared vision and responsibility. I want to assure you that during my tenure, I intend to build on the achievements of my predecessors in office. I am aware of the fact that the assignment is daunting therefore I call on all my colleagues to join me to reflect on our past, critically assess the present and look forward to the future with greater hope and enthusiasm.
With great honor and humility, I accept this mandate as the Cordinator of Progressives E-group. With a grateful heart, I deeply appreciate the highest level of support I received from our members, BOT and immediate past excos which I was part of. I thank the Chairman and members of the Electoral Committee under the chairmanship of Mr Adebiyi Wasiu, for the well co-ordinated electoral process.
I must note that my two years sojourn as the organizing Secretary of this group gave me ample opportunity to appraise and fully understand the dynamics and workings of the system. Therefore, I consider my election as a call to duty; a call I am prepared for and willing to undertake.
We won’t play politics with the long-term future of this group, we will work to get it right. And I want us to prepare to further tighten our belts because this group faces huge challenges. They are not challenges you can put in individual boxes, they’re complex, they’re interconnected, to deal with them takes hard work, complex research, deep thinking and I want us to get it right, and I’m sure with our collective responsibilities, we’ll achieve our aims.
In Conclusion, once again I thank most profoundly, the BOT, and my colleagues for their confidence and faith in me, Together we will take the Progressives e-group to greater heights.
