In Islam death is seen as a positive entity. The moment of death is a moment of rebirth of man and a moment of his hastening out from a confined region of this world into a world, which is wide, expansive and rapturous. A world, wherein, man is not troubled by anxieties, sorrows and the material and natural limitations.
“Verily, we are Almighty God’s and verily to Him shall we return.” (Qur’an 2:156)
One of the signs of a good end is dying whilst doing a righteous deed, To God be the glory over the life of our brother Abdul Fatai Adeyemi. I didn’t know him as someone who associates evils with Almighty God.
God took him on Friday just like his father Late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi. Dying on Fridays is major prayer point for every good Muslim because the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “there is no Muslim who dies on the day of Friday or the night of Friday, but Allaah will protect him from the trial (fitnah) of the grave.” Narrated by Ahmad, 6546. This is enough reason for us to be grateful to God almighty.
With all the tests of God he went through, our brother was not found in a shrine or any other religious centre. What could we do if the corps was to be brought out of demon forest ? We should be grateful, this did not happen.
Adebayo that I knew didn’t joke with five daily prayers, he was so intentionally about observing his prayers as at when due. He was verses in Quran and mastered the teachings of Islam to the needed extent.
Surely the Salah at fixed hours (of the day and night) has been enjoined upon the believers.” (Quran 4:103).
Among other things are these reasons for us to be grateful to God, for not using Abdul Fatai Adebayo Adeyemi’s name to blackmail Adeyemi’s family or Oyo at large.
I therefore urge all the concerned people and Muslim ummah at large to join us in seeking more forgiveness for our dear brother, may his soul rest well, everything he left behind shall be taken care of by the Supreme Being, may God never relegate Adeyemi’s family and may God elongate our lives. Amin thumo amin.
