TOP Congratulates Oyetola On 67th Birthday
The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the State Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola on his 67th birthday and wished him long life, prosperity and good health.
Chairman The Osun Progressives, Reverend Adelowo Adebiyi, in a congratulatory message to the governor, said it is worthwhile to mark birthdays, saying that TOP shares the joy of the day with Governor Oyetola.
Adebiyi, a former Chairman of the APC in Osun, said it is important to wish Governor Oyetola well on his birthday as he was one of the few lucky persons to hold the high office of Governor with power over four million population of Osun in their lifetime.
While we have always wished he succeeds in the onerous task of governance, we use this auspicious occasion to call the Governor’s attention to some issues which will ensure the coming to pass of the success wish.
We note the governor is entitled to his peculiar style of doing things but the position he holds has robbed him off of such, as he has decision to make on over four million citizens daily, hence the need to jettison personal peculiarities which has caused a lot of strain and stress within and among members of APC and the general populace.
TOP notes that the Governor cannot afford to be detached, withdrawn and removed from the majority of the people he governs, as he is expected to be the father figure solving problems for the millions of people whose needs, desires and wants are different and diverse.
Governor Oyetola’s ability to synthesize myriads of opinions, views and idiosyncrasies serves to bring everyone to look up to him as their problem solver which is the essence of his high office.
It is the wish of many that Governor Oyetola uses the occasion of his 67th birthday to reflect and make a commitment to inclusiveness which is the language of politics and bring to fruition his success in governance, politics and life in general.
It is our wish at the Osun Progressives TOP that Governor Oyetola uses also, the birthday to bring to an end, the self inflicted conflict in the APC and join the crusade to rebrand the party for a purposeful result of winning elections at all times and be beneficial to all members.
May the good Lord grant our Governor long life and ability to run the business of government to the satisfaction of majority of the people of the state.
