Senator Ajibola Basiru representing Osun Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly has assured people of his District that all representatives of APC at the Local, State and Federal levels would not disappoint them.
Speaking recently at the APC General meeting in Osogbo, Dr Basiru who appreciated the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for consolidating on the achievements of his predecessor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola especially in road infrastructure,refurbishment of health care centers,upgrade of Asubiaro Hospital in Osogbo and flood control called on party members to stand by the party through regular meetings.
According to Senator Basiru, meetings keep the party going. He observed that after the victory at the polls, party meetings have gone into hibernation, a development he said is not healthy for the ruling APC.
“We can see that after the election,our meeting has not been as stable as expected. I want to appeal to our leaders in Osogbo to shift our General Meetings to Friday because of our (Senate) sittings at the chambers, as I will want to be coming home regularly for the meeting,” Basiru assured.
He went further,”You should be able to ask me what we have been doing in the Senate so far. Like, I told you I’m not going to be far away from home,that I will be coming home from time to time and this is why I am here.”
Senator Ajibola Basiru disclosed that the Senate leadership is hopeful that before the end of this year, the Upper Chamber would have carefully studied the budget with his own focus on Osun Central.
Chairman,Senate Committee on the Diaspora dropped a hint that the Federal Government would renovate ten schools in Osun Central in 2019, stressing that he has taken steps in that regard to ensure its realization in conjunction with the State Government to avoid duplication of efforts.
He revealed further that the Government would build a Vocational Training Centre in Osun Central in 2019 budget,assuring that he was not resting on his laurels to actualise that before this year runs out.
Senator Basiru made it know that he had started implementing his pact with the people of Osun Central as contained in his manifesto with works on the drilling of boreholes in some market places and public areas in Osun Central.
He dispelled the rumor of intra party crises within Osogbo APC by saying with leaders such as Pa Wale Lasisi,Chief Kayode Esuleke,Alhaji Fefe Raheem and Honorables Adeoye Adelakun and Adegboye Akintunde, APC in Osogbo is impenetrable and impervious to cracks as the Osogbo stands solidly behind Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
